چکیده

One of the most widely pursued goals in dialogue system development is the improvement of usability, which i s mainly achieved by providing users with both friendly and manageable interfaces. The MIMUS dialogue system supports multimodal interactions, allowing the user to interact not only verbally but also graphically. In addition to this, MIMUS (MultIModal, University of Seville) is a multilingual system that enables the user to communicate (dynamically) in Spanish and English. The present paper describes the MIMUS architecture, the components that entail direct relationship with multilinguality, and the way in which languages can be dynamically switched within a single dialogue. MIMUS: A Multimodal and Multilingual Dialogue System for the Home Domain

This paper describes MIMUS, a multimodal and multilingual dialogue system for the in– home scenario, which allows users to control some home devices by voice and/or clicks. Its design relies on Wizard of Oz experiments and is targeted at disabled users. MIMUS follows the Information State Update approach to dialogue management, and supports English, German and Spanish, with the possibility of c...

Microsatellite primers for the four Galápagos mockingbird species (Mimus parvulus, Mimus macdonaldi, Mimus melanotis and Mimus trifasciatus).

Nineteen di- and tetranucleotide and one trinucleotide microsatellite DNA markers were isolated from the Galápagos mockingbird (Mimus parvulus) and tested for cross-species amplification in the other three mockingbird species in the Galápagos. In addition, primers for two microsatellite loci previously developed for Mimus polyglottos were redesigned to obtain shorter amplification fragments. Th...

Ambrosio: the Mimus Talking Head

In a technology-driven world where HCI is developing fast and the research on Multimodal Dialogue Systems is substantial, personality endowed virtual characters are acquiring importance. Socio-psychological research [4] indicates that users are in general more willing to interact with technology when the latter is ‘humanized’, that is, when the interaction is closer to that between humans. In t...

Wearable sensors for gait analysis Comparison between a MIMUs system and a gold standard electromechanical system

Systems based on inertial sensors are increasingly used in motion analysis due to their low cost, portability and wearability. However, since accuracy is crucial in clinical gait analysis, it is important to assess it in new systems. The aim of this study is to compare the performances of a magnetic and inertial sensors system (MIMUs) to a gold standard, the electromechanical system STEP32. Res...
